摘要: An adaptive one-dimensional (1-D) dimming technique for liquid crystal displays that compensates nonuniform backlight distribution is proposed. Dimming techniques do not consider luminance may cause severe visual artifacts, such as a block artifact. However, an 1-D considers can reduce power consumption without causing any artifacts. Hardware implementation results verified our method achieved lower compared to nondimming and removed artifacts from International Electrotechnical Commission 62087 standard images. The using the proposed ranged 85.5% 94.7% techniques. Furthermore, contrast ratio increased by up 231% 165% on average non- © Authors.
