Heat contents of the intermetallics V3Ge and V5Ge3 and thermodynamic modeling of the Ge–V system

摘要: Abstract Fourteen alloys were prepared by arc-melting the pure elements and annealing at 850 °C for 30 days. The annealed examined X–ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope with energy dispersive X-ray analysis (SEM/EDX), differential calorimetry (DSC) drop calorimeter. major experimental results are as follows. (I) heat contents of V 3 Ge 5 measured calorimeter from 400 to 900 °C. (II) microstructure as-cast alloy 87.1 12.9 indicates that eutectic composition liquid ↔ (V) + V is above 12.9 at.% Ge, 2.9 97.1 shows liquid ↔ V 17 31  + Ge close 97.1 at.% Ge. (III) invariant reaction temperatures liquid + V 11 8  ↔ V 960.0 ± 2 °C 930.7 ± 2 °C, respectively. Based on in this study literature, Ge–V system was modeled CALPHAD approach.
