摘要: We studied scattering and extinction of individual silver nanorods coupled to the J-aggregate form cyanine dye TDBC as a function plasmon - exciton detuning. The measured single particle spectra exhibited strongly suppressed rate at wavelengths corresponding absorption band, signaling strong interaction between localized surface metal core surrounding molecular shell. In context coupling theory, observed "transparency dips" correspond an average vacuum Rabi splitting order 100 meV, which approaches dephasing and, thereby, limit for smallest investigated particles. These findings could pave way towards ultra-strong light-matter on nanoscale active plasmonic devices operating room temperature.
