摘要: BACKGROUND Few studies have examined trends in pancreatic cancer death rates the United States, and there been no examining recent using age-period-cohort analysis. METHODS Annual percentage change was calculated for 1970 to 2009 by sex race among adults aged 35 84 years US mortality data provided National Center Health Statistics Joinpoint Regression. Age-period-cohort modeling performed evaluate changes cohort period effects. All statistical tests were two-sided. RESULTS In white men, decreased 0.7% per year from 1995 then increased 0.4% through 2009. Among women, slightly 1984, stabilized until late 1990s, 0.5% contrast, blacks between 1980s (women) or early 1990s (men) thereafter. analysis showed that risk highest 1900 1910 birth men 1920 1930 women a statistically significant increase effects since both (two-sided Wald test, P < .001). CONCLUSIONS whites experienced opposite are largely unexplainable known factors. This study underscores needs urgent action curb increasing of better understanding etiology this disease.
