摘要: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is caused by an interplay of environmental and genetic factors. Their relative weight can be evaluated, as in all diseases, three approaches: population epidemiology, twin concordance family aggregation studies. Epidemiological studies point to factors, likely one or more infectious agents, playing a major role demonstrated alteration MS risk consequent migration from high low areas viceversa occasional “epidemics” small communities after contact with groups individuals [1]. However, they also demonstrate the importance factors that some ethnic maintain their resistance even when reside where common (e.g. Gypsies Hungary, Blacks Asians USA, Maoris New Zealand, Lapps Scandinavia [2]). Twin clearly since monozygotic (MZ) substantially above dizygotic (DZ) (25%–30% versus 3%), but show environment level MZ twins well below 100%.
