Keck Spectroscopy and NICMOS Photometry of a Redshift [CLC][ITAL]z[/ITAL][/CLC] = 5.60 Galaxy

摘要: We present Keck Low Resolution Imaging Spectrometer spectroscopy along with Near-Infrared Camera and Multiobject (NICMOS) F110W (~J) F160W (~H) images of the galaxy HDF 4-473.0 in Hubble Deep Field (HDF), a detection an emission line consistent Lyα at redshift z=5.60. Attention to this object as high-redshift was first drawn by Lanzetta, Yahil, & Fernandez-Soto appeared their initial list galaxies redshifts estimated from Wide Planetary 2 (WFPC2) photometry. It selected us for spectroscopic observation, others HDF, on basis NICMOS WFPC2 For H_0=65 km s^(-1) Mpc^(-1) q_0=0.125, use simple evolutionary models F814W (~I), F110W, magnitudes allow estimate star formation rate (~13 M_☉ yr^(-1)). The colors suggest reddening E(B-V)~0.06. measured flux is approximately 1.0×10^(−17) ergs cm^(-2) s^(-1), rest-frame equivalent width, correcting absorption caused intervening H I, ~90 A. compact regular, but resolved, observed FWHM ~0."44. Simple can accurately reproduce colors, these predict within factor 2. Using template shifted higher redshifts, we calculate through two passbands 6
