摘要: With the trend towards offshore LNG production and offloading, sloshing of in partially filled tanks has become an important research subject for industry. can induce impact pressures on containment system affect motions carrier. So far, was mainly studied using model tests with oscillation tank. However, development Navier-Stokes solvers a detailed handling free surface, nowadays allows numerical simulation sloshing. It should be investigated, however, how accurate results this type simulations are complex flow problem. The present paper first presents details model, improved Volume OF Fluid (iVOF) method. Comparisons made test results. Based results, following conclusions drawn: - dynamics simulated numerically iVOF solver. Several improvements have been treatment spikes pressure signals, but still more need to made. Qualitatively, pulses resulting from impacts against tank wall show rather good agreement between experiment simulation. Quantitatively, differences that further studies respect cell sizes time steps necessary.Copyright © 2004 by ASME
