Electronic Structure and Phase Transition in V2O3: Importance of 3d Spin-Orbit Interaction and Lattice Distortion

摘要: The 3 d electronic structure and phase transition in pure Cr doped V 2 O are theoretically investigated relation to the spin-orbit interaction lattice distortion. A model consisting of nearest-neighbor ion pair with full degeneracy orbitals is studied within many-body point view. It shown that each S =1 spin state has a large orbital magnetic moment ∼0.7 µ B no ordering occurs antiferromagnetic insulating (AFI) phase. anomalous resonant Bragg reflection found AFI attributed ordering. In paramagnetic (PI) phases, Jahn–Teller like instability leads tilting pairs from corundum c -axis this causes difference occupation between metal which consistent linear dichroic p XAS measurements.
