Hardware decoding of media streams from multiple sources

摘要: Digital media streams are received by a cable set top box (STB) from multiple sources, such as television and IP (Internet Protocol) sources. The STB includes standard video tuner demodulator/demultiplexer for receiving an encoded stream source. In addition, the modem device CPU further selector, which selectively receives either (1) or (2) CPU, transmission to hardware-based decoder.
