摘要: Aims. Maternal mental disorders have been associated with the risk of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children. Within context a mother-child cohort, we examined whether maternal anxiety, depression and sleep are pre-school ADHD symptoms. Methods. The study included 3634 singletons from Italian NINFEA (Nascita e INFanzia: gli Effetti dell'Ambiente') cohort. doctor-diagnosed before during pregnancy were assessed questionnaires completed 6 months after delivery. Mothers rated child symptoms at 4 years age, according to Diagnostic Statistical Manual Mental Disorders. Hyperactive-impulsive (ADHD-H), inattentive (ADHD-I) total scores analysed models adjusted for child's gender, first-born status, education, alcohol consumption smoking pregnancy. Results. score age was lifetime anxiety (17.1% percentage difference compared never; 95% CI 7.3-27.9%), (35.7%; 10.7-66.5%) (17.5%; 3.2-33.8%). Similar positive associations observed also ADHD-H ADHD-I traits, slightly attenuated between score, both scores. All estimates enhanced when active only pre-pregnancy period. Conclusions. relative increase number ADHD-H, preschoolers.
