Development of an integrated assessment of large lakes using towed in situ sensor technologies: Linking nearshore conditions with adjacent watersheds

摘要: Coastal and nearshore regions of most large lakes have not been included in monitoring efforts a regular, consistent comprehensive fashion. To address this need, we developing survey approach using towed situ sensors to provide spatially-extensive mapping conditions. Within the last decade, applied strategy towing along coastline all five US/Canadian Laurentian Great Lakes. We developed confidence strategy's ability assess entire region comprehensively efficiently. This article presents an overview steps development, selection representative results, our continuing evaluation approach.
