摘要: Inhalation is an important exposure pathway to airborne pollutants such as heavy metals, polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDD/Fs) particulate matter. Chronic those chemicals, which form part of complex environmental mixtures, may mean human health risks. In the present study, suitability different in vitro tests evaluate toxic effects air PM(10) investigated. addition, it also assessed how distinguish contribution chemical toxicity. Sixty-three samples were collected various areas Catalonia (Spain), levels ecotoxicity, cytotoxicity genotoxicity evaluated. Aqueous acidic extractions quartz fiber filters, where had been retained, performed. The photo-luminescent bacteria Vibrio fischeri (Microtox®) bioassay was performed assess ecotoxicity. Moreover, MTT Comet Assays, both using lung epithelial cells A549 target cells, applied samples, respectively. results show that Microtox® excellent screening test perform a first evaluation quality, presented significant correlation with contaminants, contrasting Assay. Although none exhibited genotoxicity, high found between this carcinogenic agents. Urban from traffic-impacted would be significantly more toxic. Finally, temperature identified key parameter, higher values ecotoxicity winter.
