摘要: In degenerative diseases of the temporomandibular joint mandibular condyle demonstrates changes in contour, including flattening and enlargement, resulting an increased diameter articular surface. The purpose this study was to determine if such alterations shape can be visualized submentovertex (axial) radiographs correlated with pathologic joint. Submentovertex 18 human cadaver specimens were made. radiographic condylar dimensions, morphologic outline, angle axis respect transmeatal line determined. dissected disarticulated, findings compared anatomic structure. Osseous abnormalities found 21 36 joints studied (58%). Perforations disk nine 31 (29%) investigated. No statistically significant differences between normal condyles displaying osseous any parameters studied.
