摘要: The papillomaviruses (PVs) are a large family of DNA viruses indigenous to many, if not all, vertebrate species. unique feature these is that they all induce primarily benign proliferations epithelial cells in their natural hosts. Individual members this show high degree both species specificity and tissue specificity. Squamous or mucosal the targets infection. life cycle virus intimately coupled differentiation program infected tissue. Conversely, expression early viral genes interferes with normal pattern keratin expression, cell regulation, terminal differentiation, which ultimately gives rise aberrant cells. With some types, however, progress into aggressive malignancies.
