摘要: 1. We tested the species diversity–energy hypothesis using British bird fauna. This predicts that temperature patterns should match diversity patterns. We also mechanism operates directly through effects of on thermoregulatory loads; this further seasonal changes in cause matching diversity, and species’ body mass is influential. 2. We defined four assemblages migration status (residents or visitors) season (summer winter distribution). Records presence/absence a total 2362, 10 × 10-km, quadrats covering most Britain were used, together with wide selection habitat, topographic climatic data. 3. We fitted logistic regression model to each distribution environmental data. then combined these individual models mathematically form model. Analysis composite revealed summer was factor strongly associated diversity. 4. Although species–energy supported, direct mechanism, predicting an important role for change between temperature, not supported. 5. However, best overall explanation Britain. It better predictor than temperature. Winter predicted more precisely from factors diversity. 6. Climate likely influence different areas extents; resident species, low may respond as climate progresses. For visitors, higher strongly, while visitors are approximately neutral.
