Results of surgical treatment of atrial septal defects

摘要: Abstract Repair of defects in the interatrial septum was performed 191 patients, using pump oxygenator for temporary cardiopulmonary bypass. Results operation were related to nature defect and extent cardiac impairment. In uncomplicated cases secundum defects, risk surgery nil results closure excellent. a consecutive series 110 patients under twentyfive years age, no deaths occurred. ostium primum with cleft mitral valve twenty-nine 13 per cent mortality. Long-term highly favorable indicate complete repair this defect. surgical treatment A-V canal least favorable. Congestive heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, right-to-left intracardiac shunts, extremes age anomaly determine operation.
