摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter reviews how antigens, in particular those derived from invading microbes, are internalized and presented to the cells of adaptive immune system. Model systems employing protein antigens such as ovalbumin have been useful analyze cell surface receptors, intracellular processes well organelles involved formation peptide-major histocompatiblity (MHC) complexes. MHC restricted processing presentation, however, is usually initiated through invasion a wide variety microorganisms into different types cells. At same time, many these microbes need host environment for successful replication. That delicate balance maintained by system, which limits growth microorganisms, illustrated rapid progression infectious disease under compromised conditions. Furthermore, more learn about non-MHC defense mechanisms, activation T subsets lipid moieties bacteria. Recently components innate immunity receiving attention. As represent first encounter agents they obviously play crucial role defense.
