Colorectal cancer in Iran: an epidemiological study.

摘要: BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common cancers worldwide. But information regarding CRC in Iran limited; aim this study was to investigate epidemiologic features Iran, using 5-year data from registry. METHODS This survey a descriptive-analytic consists 1138 colorectal patients who registered Cancer Registry Center Research for Gastroenterology and Liver Disease, Tehran, Iran. These gathered interview pathology reports that registry forms. Data analysis performed with descriptive univariate methods. RESULTS Of patients, 696 cases were male 442 female. There no significant difference between males females age at diagnosis. 400 (35.1%) had family history cancer. The histology type tumor adenocarcinoma, NOS. In (39.1%) grading well differentiated there females. CONCLUSION disease nonspecific symptoms. Family evident 35.1% our also 42.9% below 50 years old, suggests genetic factors may be play an important role development country.
