摘要: Five molecular weight grades of poly(DL-lactic acid) (PLA) were incorporated as organic and aqueous pseudolatex binders into matrix tablet formulations containing microcrystalline cellulose the model drug theophylline. The tablets thermally treated to temperatures above below glass transition temperature (Tg) PLA. results dissolution studies showed that treating Tg PLA significantly retarded release compared which not treated. retardation in could be attributed a stronger compact more efficient redistribution polymer throughout matrix, based on fundamental principles annealing. In addition, from index testing supported results. bonding increased after thermal treatment Gel permeation chromatography differential scanning calorimetry demonstrated had no significant effect alone combination with other components formulation.
