摘要: In an effort to increase conservation effectiveness through the use of Earth observation technologies, a group remote sensing scientists affiliated with government and academic institutions organizations identified 10 questions in for which potential be answered would greatly increased by remotely sensed data analyses those data. Our goals were practitioners’ support their work, collaboration between science communities, identify develop new innovative uses advancing science, provide guidance space agencies on how future satellite missions can generate from public private sector address questions. We broad initial list basis email chain-referral survey. then used workshop-based iterative collaborative approach whittle down these final (which represent major themes conservation): How global model species distributions abundances? improve understanding animal movements? ecosystem variables understand, monitor, predict response resilience multiple stressors? monitor effects climate ecosystems? near real-time monitoring catalyze threat reduction, governance regulation compliance, resource management decisions? inform configuration protected area networks at spatial extents relevant populations target services? sensing-derived products value changes evaluate efforts? does expansion intensification agriculture aquaculture alter ecosystems services they provide? determine degree are being disturbed or degraded functions?
