摘要: A set of stacked two-dimensional electron systems in a perpendicular magnetic field exhibits three-dimensional version the quantum Hall effect if interlayer tunneling is not too strong. When such sample plateau, edge states each layer combine to form chiral metal at surface. We study interplay interactions and disorder transport properties metal, regime weak tunneling. Our starting point system without tunneling, which only excitations are harmonic collective modes: surface magnetoplasmons. Using bosonization working perturbatively amplitude, we express terms spectrum for these modes, treating electron-electron impurity scattering exactly. calculte conductivity as function temperature, finding that it increases with increasing temperature observed recent experiments. also calculate autocorrelation mesoscopic conductance fluctuations induced by changes component surface, its dependence on temperature. show characterised dephasing length varies inversely
