摘要: AbstractMost previous studies have proven the local negative heat flux feedback (the surface response to SST anomalies) in midlatitude areas. However, it is uncertain whether a nonlocal can be observed. In this paper, generalized equilibrium assessment (GEFA) method employed examine full turbulent North Atlantic Ocean using NCEP–NCAR reanalysis data. The results not only confirm dominant feedback, but also indicate robust positive of Gulf Stream Extension (GSE) downstream subpolar region. This presents strong seasonality, with magnitudes winter and summer. Further study indicates that effect initiated by adjustments wind GSE anomalies.
