摘要: This paper explores the relationship between age and different types of head injury received by pedestrians in traffic accidents with cars. The analysis is based on information collected hospitals England, supported in-depth case examples. principle result that risk intracranial increases age, whilst fracture to or facial bones remains relatively constant. agrees previous findings for other groups casualties, which have reported decrease brain size leads an increase relative motion skull impact, a corresponding traumatic injury. Intracranial injuries also been found place greatest burden hospitals, may implications automotive design if prevention these be prioritised over fractures skull.
