摘要: Populus (Salicaceae) is one of the most economically and ecologically important genera forest trees. The complex reticulate evolution lack highly variable orthologous single-copy DNA markers have posed difficulties in resolving phylogeny this genus. Based on a large data set nuclear plastid sequences, we reconstructed robust using parsimony, maximum likelihood Bayesian inference methods. resulting phylogenetic trees showed better resolution at both inter- intra-sectional level than previous studies. results revealed that (1) plastid-based tree resulted two main clades, suggesting an early divergence maternal progenitors Populus; (2) three advanced sections (Populus, Aigeiros Tacamahaca) are hybrid origin; (3) species section Tacamahaca could be divided into major groups based data, polyphyletic nature section; (4) many proved to origin incongruence between Reticulate may played significant role history by facilitating rapid adaptive radiations different environments.
