摘要: This study was done to assess the risk of helminth infection in association with wastewater-fed rice cultivation an agricultural setting Nam Dinh city, Vietnam. In a cross sectional survey data were collected for 202 households commune where wastewater used irrigation and 201 that river water. Parasitological examination conducted on single stool samples obtained from 1,088 individuals aged $15 years households. The water both communes enumerated eggs thermotolerant coliforms. prevalence Ascaris spp., Trichuris hookworm 42.2%, 19.9% 10.5% respectively, overall any 53.4%. Surprisingly, lower among people exposed (containing 40–200 eggs/l 10 4 coliforms/100 ml) compared contained worm egg bacterial numbers. Poor sanitation hygiene practices not using protective measures important independent factors infection. For infection, no significant difference observed between unexposed groups. Children living use area had significantly better nutritional status than those suggests generally higher welfare level area. conclusion, this showed evidence poses More detailed studies are needed reduction fecal indicators peri-urban wastewater-irrigated culture systems relative importance other
