摘要: SUMMARY 1. We measured stable isotopes of carbon (d 13 C) and nitrogen 15 N) fatty acid profiles inLake Ontario alewife (Alosa pseudoharengus), rainbow smelt (Osmerus mordax), slimy sculpin (Cottuscognatus) round goby (Neogobius melanostomus) collected from 1982 to 2008 investigate howtemporal variability in these ecological tracers can relate ecosystem-level changes associated withthe establishment highly invasive dreissenid mussels.2. Prey fish d N values remained relatively constant, with only exhibiting a temporalincrease N. In contrast, C for alewife, and, especially, sculpinbecame less negative over time were consistent the benthification Lake foodweb dreissenids.3. Principal components analysis revealed higher contributions 14:0 16:1n-7 acids andincreasingly older samples agreement greater historical impor-tance pelagic production sculpin.4. Temporal declines unsaturation indices Σn-3/Σn-6 ratios, also increased24:0/14:0 ratios sculpin, indicated increasing importance ofnearshore pathways more recently resulted similarto those goby.5. These results indicate temporal convergence food niche, whereas partitioning hashistorically supported coexistence prey species Ontario.
