A new snubber circuit for inverters with GTOs in series

摘要: An increase in the power handling capability of forced commutated inverters stipulates a higher operating voltage. A direct approach is to connect GTOs series. Since most common snubber circuits for GTO are not suitable arrangements series, this paper presents new topology especially suited such and offering design advantages at high levels. Following description available techniques their problems, circuit presented analyzed theoretically as well by using computer simulation.
