Theoretical and experimental research on effect of fins attachment on operating parameters and thermal efficiency of solar air collector

摘要: Abstract Flat plate air collector is a type of heat exchanger which absorbs radiated solar energy and exchanges it to heat. According low efficiency this collectors, suitable approach investigated in paper so as increase thermal performance the system. Thermal for two models C1 (without fins) C2 (with both 1 m2 surface area with forced convection flow studied theoretically experimentally. Rectangular fins are attached over back board channel create turbulence flow. In order measure temperature, 17 sensors (LM35) exploited, among 11 were mounted on absorber remaining 6 board. Physical design experimental model performed Solidwork programming theoretical work Matlab software. research, fan constant mass rate 0.033 kg/s utilized producing Results indicate that applying not only reduces Nusselt number from 19.67 16.23, but also due decreasing hydraulic diameter creating turbulence, causes transfer coefficient consequently reduction total loss higher outlet temperatures. Average difference temperature between results collectors (C1 C2) was recorded respectively 7.6% 9.4%. calculated 30% 51% types without 33% 55% those generally seem reasonable.
