摘要: The polyaniline (PANI) morphological structure is strongly correlated with the preparation procedure, yielding diverse geometries such as nano-tubes, belts, rods, fibres and particles. In this study, synthesis of a novel PANI morphology consisting hollow needles urchin-like structures presented its formation mechanism explained. polymer was synthesized by chemical oxidative polymerization aniline in presence magnesium oxide structural directing agent. study conducted using scanning electron microscopy situ monitoring needle growth done optical microscopy. functional groups these were characterized Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Additionally, modelled based on multi-layer theory where core–shell exists between (shell) particles (core). © 2014 Society Chemical Industry
