摘要: The innate immune system is conserved among different insect species in its response to microorganism infection. transmembrane receptors of the Toll superfamily play an important role activating response, however, function silkworm family member 18 Wheeler (18 W) remained unclear. Here, 18w gene was characterized. A relatively high transcription level Bm18w mRNA found Malpighian tubules, and eggs, larvae pre-molt fourth instar, pupae adults. When were infected with E. coli or S. aureus, showed a significant especially coli, but did not have antibacterial activity. To further identify downstream antimicrobial peptide genes Bm18w, expression knocked down siRNA vitro, resulting decreases cecropin-A, gloverin 2, moricin B3. overexpression carried out using pIZT/V5-His-mCherry vector BmN cells upregulation cecropin-A 2 detected, as well attacin defensin. Based on results, we concluded that involved bacterial infection by selectively inducing genes, 2. This study provides valuable data supplement understanding pathway silkworm.
