摘要: Response surface methodology (RSM) was employed for the synthesis of cassava starch-graft-poly(acrylamide) using ceric ammonium nitrate as free radical initiator. Concentration acrylamide, concentration nitrate, reaction temperature and duration were optimized a 4-factor 3-level Box-Behnken design. The dependent variables percentage grafting (%G) efficiency (GE). Second order polynomial relationships obtained %G GE, which explained main, quadratic interaction effects factors. highest%G GE 174.8% 90.7%, respectively. optimum values parameters predicted through RSM 20 g acrylamide/10 dry starch, 3.3 g/L 180 min 45°C with 190.0. For levels factors value 90.8% 17.5 4.1 55°C temperature. graft confirmed by FTIR analysis, where absorption bands corresponding to C=O stretching N-H bending -CONH 2 group observed. Scanning electron microscopic studies on grafted starches revealed that granular structure starch affected reaction. X-ray diffraction analysis showed crystallinity decreased result reduction higher grafting.
