摘要: The Rhinella margaritifera complex is characterisized by the presence of many cryptic species throughout its wide distribution, ranging from Panama to Bolivia and almost entire Amazonia. French Guiana has long been thought harbor two this group (Rhinella one unnamed species), though a recent survey using molecular data indicated as five lineages. At least three these lineages do not appear interbreed despite broad sympatry thus could be easily regarded distinct according both biological phylogenetic concepts. We examined morphological variation four lineages, along with acoustic determine whether characters discriminate goups. These analyses, combined published other species, that represent previously species. Two remainings are allocable R. while status fifth still unclear because so far it morphologically indistinguishable castaneotica.
