摘要: The turning point of modem surgery for lung cancer treatment can be identified around the beginning 80s, when general thoracic already mature to pave way present advances, was initially meeting novel organisation surgical minds inspired by New International System Staging Lung Cancer [1]. firstly presented Clifton F. Mountain in 1985, during IV IASLC World Congress on Toronto. At that time attitude generally inclined resect cancers radically whenever technically possible, according diffuse belief “resectability is a state mind” and “the decision whether particular neoplasm often depends respective surgeon’s philosophy more than objective facts”! [2]. Indeed, great experience previously acquired field War II, ensuing establishment with direct filiation cardiac vascular ones, meaningful results obtained threshold 80s terms prolonged survival after resection (27–40% 5 yr) lowered operative mortality (−10%) [3–5], would have then really allowed surgeons think such way!
