摘要: Abstract Magnetization and susceptibility measurements on the icosahedral R 8 Mg 42 Zn 50 compounds (R = Tb, Dy, Ho Er) are presented. A magnetic transition occurs at rather low temperature, considering large antiferromagnetic interactions present. Weak irreversible phenomena occur in low-temperature phase. The nature of this latter is discussed relation with giant geometrical frustration associated likely quasiperiodicity.
