摘要: Groups involved in the livestock vs large carnivore conflict hold widely divergent attitudes toward carnivores, yet they all endorse general ecocentric values. The hypothesis that contrasting motives for endorsement of values may mediate between and carnivores was evaluated a survey among sheep farmers, wildlife managers, research biologists Norway. Results showed positive associations anthropocentrism negative ecocentrism three groups. Farmers, relative to other groups, scored lowest on highest anthropocentric subscales, as operationalized by Thompson Barton (1994). This result be interpreted within cognitive hierarchy model where environmental beliefs transform into or one specific category.
