摘要: Abstract Subjects performed a dichotic listening task. They shadowed prose in one ear and attempted, after delays ranging from 0.3 to 20.3 sec, recall single digits that had been embedded presented the nonattended ear. Recall performance decreased 0 5 sec typical negatively accelerated fashion. No memory for material was apparent between sec. The data indicate verbal auditorily channel persists briefly, but is not transferred into long-term store.
