摘要: A simple classification system for central nervous neoplasms occurring primarily in infancy and childhood largely composed of undifferentiated neuroepithelial cells is proposed. Classification based upon appearance the tumor as determined by light microscopy, immunocytochemical techniques, ultrastructural features without consideration site origin. This on concept that neoplastic transformation primitive subependymal zones at all levels or pineal body may develop into tumors similar cells. It therefore seems appropriate to call these neuroectodermal use descriptive terms indicate direction cellular differentiation, when it has occurred. Proposed terminology five subtypes round cell follows: 1) Primitive tumor, not otherwise specified (PNET, NOS), 2) PNET with glial 3) ependymal 4) neuronal 5) multi- bipotential differentiation. If located cerebellum, medulloblastoma be added parentheses; if body, parenchymal neoplasm added.
