摘要: Increased genetic gain for complex traits in plant breeding programs can be achieved through different selection strategies. The objective of this study was to compare potential gains grain yield a winter wheat program estimating response R values across several approaches including phenotypic (PS), marker-based (MS), genomic (GS), and combination PS GS (PS+GS). Ten populations Washington State University (WSU) lines diversity panel F5 double haploid evaluated from 2015 2019 growing seasons Lind Pullman, WA, USA were used the study. Selection conducted by selecting top 20% based on observed (PS strategy), estimated presence "enhancing" alleles most significant single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers identified genome-wide association mapping high Overall, compared other individual strategies (MS GS) showed highest mean (R = 0.61) within same environment. When combined with GS, 23% improvement observed, indicating that could improved complementing traditional Validating environments resulted low negative effects genotype-by-environment interactions yield. MS not successful terms relative approaches; using strategy (P < 0.05) decrease approaches. An integrated PS+GS approach result optimal environment, whereas might viable option validated environments. Altogether, we demonstrated increased WSU implementing either exclusively or combination.
