摘要: Intensive tillage for annual crop production may be affecting soil health and quality. However, intensity effects on biological activities of volcanic-derived soils have not been systematically investigated. We evaluated the three different practices some an Ultisol from southern Chile during third year a wheat–lupin–wheat sequence. Treatments were: no with stubble burning (NTB), without (NT) conventional disk-harrowing (CT). Biological were in winter summer at 0–200 mm depths (0–50, 50–100 100–200 mm) winter. Total organic C N significantly higher under no-tillage systems than CT. In general, NT increased microbial biomass comparison CT, especially Microbial was closely associated (r = 0.986, P < 0.05); acid phosphomonoesterase 0.999, β-glucosidase 0.978, 0.05), others. Changes occurred mainly upper layer (0–50 mm depth) spite short duration experiment. could used as practical indicators to apply more appropriate management increasing sustainability or productivity.
