摘要: Abstract Little research has examined the relationship between religion and specific causes of death, although cause-of-death analyses may provide insight into mechanisms that lead from religious involvement to premature mortality. Causes death closely link health behaviors social ties support are most likely be associated with involvement. For example, cancer, circulatory, respiratory disease mortality risks lower among those who report higher levels involvement, because groups often disapprove smoking excessive drinking. Religious communities also champion less violent risky lifestyles, which protect against external causes. We examine effects on cause-specific for adult population as a whole by age sex, using national data set controlling important confounding factors. The overall differentials across similar but greater middle-aged than older adults. Although is not always protective, we do find more frequent attendance reduces risk such circulatory diseases, infectious lung cancer. Overall, our results demonstrate how add affects
