摘要: Flood risk changes in time and is influenced by both natural socio-economic trends interactions. In Europe, previous studies of historical flood losses corrected for demographic economic growth ("normalized") have been limited temporal spatial extent, leading to an incomplete representation over time. this study we utilize a gridded reconstruction exposure 37 European countries new database damaging floods since 1870. Our results indicate that 1870 there has increase annually inundated area number persons affected, contrasted substantial decrease fatalities, after correcting change exposure. For more recent decades also found considerable decline financial per year. We estimate, however, large underreporting smaller beyond most years, show impact on observed trends.
