摘要: As the entire world is under grip of Coronavirus diseases 2019 (COVID-19), and as many are eagerly trying to explain origins virus cause pandemic, it imperative place more attention on related potential biosafety risks. Biology biotechnology have changed dramatically during last ten years or so. Their reliance digitization, automation, their cyber-overlaps created new vulnerabilities for unintended consequences potentials intended exploitation that largely under-appreciated. Herein, I summarize elaborate these cyberbiosecurity challenges, (1) in terms comprehending evolving threat landscape determining risk potentials, (2) developing adequate safeguarding measures, validation implementation, (3) specific critical dangers consequences, them unique life-sciences. Drawing upon expertise shared by others well my previous work, this article aims critically interpret current situation our bioeconomy. goal not attribute causative aspects past biosecurity events, but highlight fact bioeconomy harbors features be assessed unintentionally harm human health environment, re-tasked with an intention harm. conclude recommendations will need taken into consideration help ensure converging emerging biorisk order minimize life-science enterprise, public health, national security.
