摘要: ABARE project 1752 Subsidies on the production and consumption of energy are used widely by governments to achieve a range policy objectives. Many these noneconomic objectives include maintenance regional employment levels provision adequate supplies poor. However, because subsidies distort price signals fail reflect true economic costs supply, they lead inefficient or subsidised good. Fossil fuel subsidies, for example, can result in overuse, use wastage energy. And is an important source pollution, including greenhouse gases, also contribute environmental damage.
