摘要: The paper focuses on the semantic derivation models of mental engrossment vocabulary – a class words that denote state person absorbed (lost, buried, plunged, etc.) in thought, memories, dreams, etc. study shows characteristics development paradigm from cross-linguistic perspective and reveals adjectives English Polish languages. Semantic modelling provided proceeds assumption linguistic item is realised simultaneously with situation concept extension. extension supposed to be determined by changes participants undergo within source-to-target-situations transitions (shifts). source may change their role, referential, communicative, taxonomic or deictic as compared those target one. determine types (models) derivational strategies underlie item’s paradigm. construed suggests regular way internal domain (the engrossment) towards external domains situations identification, association, evaluation, etc.). concludes apply actantial (based increase participants), implicative implications participants’ changes) categorical specifications) derivation.
