摘要: An architecture for a memory with wide word, e.g. n-byte, width particularly suited use as high definition video frame store (80), and an accompanying organization storing pixel data therein to facilitate efficient block raster access therefrom. Specifically, the relies on n-byte words (n=(m 1 ×m 2 )) across m independent -byte segments, pre-defined positional offsets between respective (203)("nibbles") stored in successive segments. All these segments are simultaneously accessed read or write basis. During operation, all nibbles input word appropriately shuffled yield proper inter-segment prior being written into collective word. from output Inasmuch either scan line sub-block (210 W , 210 X Y Z ) of macroblock is collectively during one shuffling occurring pipelined basis therewith, each two widely differing forms can occur at very efficiency hence essentially full bandwidth. This permits that be fabricated relatively inexpensive circuits.
