摘要: Bursaphelenchus xylophilus is an emerging pathogenic nematode that responsible for a devastating epidemic of pine wilt disease across Asia and Europe. In this study, we report the first genome-wide variation analysis with aim to obtain full picture its diversity. We sequenced six key B. xylophilus strains using Illumina HiSeq sequencer. All strains were isolated in Japan have been widely used previous studies. Detection genomic variations done by mapping reads reference genome. Over 3 Mb genetic variations, accounting 4.1 % total genome, detected as single nucleotide polymorphisms or small indels, suggesting multiple introductions invaded species from native area into country. The high level diversity wood was related pathogenicity ecological trait differences. Moreover, identified gene set affected variation, functional annotation those genes indicated some them had potential roles pathogenesis. This study provides important resource understanding population structure, evolutionary ecology nematode, further based on geographically diverse B. populations will greatly accelerate our complex evolutionary/epidemic history pathogen.
