摘要: The San Matias Gulf (SMG; 41°- 42° S; 64°- 65° W) is the largest gulf in Northern Patagonia, Argentina. Up to date, chondrichthyan fauna of this area has not been reported. Therefore, aim work provide a list with species presence and biological characteristics chondrichthyans recorded SMG during last 30 years. A total 13 sharks distributed 11 families, 19 skates rays six one holocephalan have so far SMG. From zoogeographical point view, mixed assemblage typically found Argentinean Magellanean Provinces. Callorhinchus callorynchus most landed chondricthyan local fishery. With it, five seven are also exploited.
