摘要: Meibomian glands are a modified type of sebaceous within the eye lid, which produce an oily secretion important for stabilization and prevention evaporation tear film. The holocrine secretory mode is characterized by centripetal movement, maturation finally degeneration acinar epithelial cells. process paralleled altered expression pattern certain proteins intracellular accumulation gland lipids. In this study, we investigated correlation between differentiation status acinus cells presence adhesive junctions. By ultrastructural analyses, showed first time that frequency desmosomes increased with degree differentiation. Importantly, detected differentiation-dependent distribution acinus, whereas molecules other cell junctions, e.g., adherens equally distributed. Together, these findings provide new insights into processes may be interpretation dysfunction causing diseases like dry syndrome.
