摘要: Abstract Purpose: Promising healing effects by albumin eye drops (AED) on the corneal epithelium have been demonstrated. The aim of this study was to analyze retrospectively if AED are an effective treatment for severe ocular surface defects and recurrences can be reduced. Methods: Seventeen patients with persistent epithelial (PED) 30 sterile ulcers (CU) were treated either 5% or 0.1% hyaluronan (HED) 8 times daily until complete closure. Sizes defects, length follow-up period, as well recurrence rate evaluated. Follow-up PED carried out 126±21 days in group 142±39 HED group.
