摘要: Publisher Summary The supernatants of wheat germ agglutinin (WGA)-stimulated cell cultures to which N-acetylglucosamine (NAG) is added block residual WGA activity are not inhibitory. As has a different carbohydrate binding specificity than phytohemagglutinin (PHA) or concanavalin A (Con A), it presumably interacts with glycoproteins two mitogenic lectins. Depending on the medium and lymphocyte source, dose–response curves for Con stimulation DNA synthesis frequently fall within relatively narrow range. When optimal concentration exceeded, response falls markedly, sometimes back level in unstimulated cells. In contrast, succinylated A, divalent, displays curve little no inhibition at high concentrations. At concentrations, could be interacting primarily high-affinity, stimulatory receptors, whereas higher low-affinity, inhibitory receptors might also involved, reducing response. existence domains surface have other implications function.
